Recipe by Gahan House Nova Centre

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ CHOPPED WHITE ONION
  • 1 TBSP CANOLA OIL
  • ½ JALAPENO PEPPER
  • 4 GARLIC CLOVES, MINCED
  • ½ TSP CUMIN
  • 250 ML LIGHT BEER
  • ½ CUP CILANTRO, CHOPPED
  • 1 LB LARGE, PEELED SHRIMP
  • 1 LIME ZESTED AND JUICED

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Heat oil in skillet on medium heat.
  • Cook onion, jalapeno pepper, garlic until tender
  • Add cumin, season to taste with salt and pepper
  • Add beer, cilantro and cook until reduced by half
  • Add shrimp and cook until shrimp are pink and tender
  • Add lime juice and zest
  • Serve over steamed white rice and garnish with lime wedges, cilantro and avocado
